ADOPTION PENDING
Fisher came to us Nov. 4, 2024 from a very rural shelter and has now just about got the hang of being safe and loved. He's a quirky little fellow who likes to cuddle, but only on the bed, and then only with your head. :) He enjoys being around other dogs, finds safety in their presence and will every now and then play chase with them. When the canine siblings in his foster home are getting affection, Fisher will climb over them to climb onto foster mom to receive his share. :)) Otherwise, he's very quiet and well mannered. You will rarely ever hear him bark and just minds his own business when the other dogs are all barking. His interest in toys is exclusive to large stuffed animals, but he doesn't mind sharing; he is very submissive. Fisher is crated at night only and is fine being in the crate. If not crated, he will get up VERY early and potty in the house. However, once he has been outside and done his business, he is good as gold. In fact, he is NOT crated when the family leaves home and has never had an accident. He spends most of his day on a couch looking out a window. For some reason , he is apprehensive about spending time in the fenced back yard, (although he will go out and do his pee and poo there), but Fisher loves to go on walks. He is well behaved on the leash, enjoying his sniffing with minimal pulling. Fisher can be a little standoffish with new people but if they sit down and behave calmly, he is fine. We don't know about cats but he does not appear to have a prey drive so might be fine. He is not extremely food motivated which is unusual for a beagle. Fisher Is heartworm negative and ready for a sleepover. He needs a calm home with another dog for security.
